I bought a name — a sleek domain,
To build my kingdom on the plain.
But names alone just float in space,
Without the DNS in place.
DNS, the wizard true,
Turns names to IPs out of the blue.
With magic maps and TTLs,
It guides the world where data dwells.
My web server stood proud and strong,
To serve up memes and blogs all day long.
It said, “GET ready!” and “POST away!”
Until someone broke it with PHP one day.
The mail server was not amused,
“Another spam? I feel abused!”
It filtered junk with all its might,
And still missed ‘Vi@gra deals tonight’.
But still my domain stood tall and proud,
Resolving calls from every cloud.
A tiny name in cyberspace,
With servers humming — in their place.
So here’s to tech, domains and more,
To ports and logs and 404.
May your configs stay nice and clean,
And uptime always stay… sixteen nines.
